Spring is the season for new life and transformation, and I love how our place changes through the months of April/May/June. Baby animals being born, the garden growing (and weeds, too :), fruit growing on the trees and bushes, flowers blooming in a beautiful array of colors, and all the lush green.

The garden with the goat pen behind it

Our month of May was the hottest on record, yet June began with cooler temperatures which has been so nice. I have been enjoying relaxing walks in the evenings after busy, fun days making product and filling order. The other day, I brought my camera along and captured photos from around our place . . .

Hostas growing in the front garden of the house

Peppers and tomatoes. The plants are growing really well so far! Hopefully that trend will continue as we are out of our canned salsa and nearly out of many other tomato products. We’re ready to can and restock!

Black Hungarian Peppers

These Bachelor Buttons bring some cheery color to the garden

I can almost taste those fresh from the bush blueberries! We are still enjoying ones in our freezer from last year and will hopefully be adding more to the freezer again this summer.

There are a lot of apples on some of the trees

Busy bees bringing in nectar to make honey . . . some of which will be going into our Oatmeal and Honey Sugar Scrubs!

One of the few remaining peaches (unfortunately a strong wind storm blew most of them off )

Aurora and River out grazing in the evening sunshine . . . I love being out here with the goats! It is so peaceful. Plus they are always eager for some attention, too. : )

Look what was out lying down in our neighbor’s field! We are seeing our resident fox regularly. A pair of them has a den on our place, and it has been fun to see them!

One of the doelings that we had born this year. Meadow (her mom) went through a time when she wasn’t producing much milk so we were bottle feeding as a supplement. Thankfully her production is back up again, and that isn’t needed anymore!

Peeking over her sister

Now we are waiting on Primrose. Today is her due date, and I am thinking she will be kidding today . . . we’ll see!

(Just a note . . . while we have goats, I get the milk for my soaps from a dairy goat breeder down the road from us. Which is a blessing as it’s a bit much to do both the milking and the product making/business side of things!)

And there you have a glimpse into what it is looking like around our place at the moment. There is much to enjoy and to be thankful for!

Now I better get this posted and go check on Primrose again : ) . . . she was bleating like crazy awhile ago which is what Meadow (her sister) did before she started labor. Maybe goat kids will be on their way soon!
